According to AOL the world would be better off without Blu-ray and HD-DVD because it creates the format war identical to the 80's Betamax/VHS stand-off where VHS ultimately came out as the clear winner. Their advice is wait... or risk building a library of obsolete discs. I wonder if the review writer has a stash of Betamax videos in his garage.
That's not just all, Playstation 3, 'Draft' N Wiressless routers, Windows Vista... All of which you should avoid. Here's their list of items not to buy, just yet.

I only agree with 1 thing... the camera. Most P&S users dont even need 5MP. The majority would do fine with 3MP... 10MP wont even get you a better picture quality on a P&S camera anyways (because the CCD is no bigger, its just got more pixels crammed in it) A 6MP D-SLR will always have a better picture than a 10MP P&S just due to the CCD/CMOS size.
I also somewhat agree with his view on Vista, but the others... nope.
In general their/his views seem really pushy, the "were right, you're wrong" type of deal.

So, Blake, what do you have? Blueray or HD DVD? Seriously... That part was good too. Buy all your movies in HD DVD to only find Blueray won? Nothing like having to sell your whole beta video collection. I'll stick with my Laser Discs
Okay, the Playstation 3 article did sound like an ad for Microsoft, I'll give you that.
Draft N routers? What part of the word Draft don't you understand? The 802.11n standard is not finished. They can't agree on a standard(s). So you could by a nice N router, to only find it won't work a few months from now, when the 802.11n standard is finished. You should stay away from draft N routers.
The camera? Yeah, we all agree saying 'i haf a 10 mega pickle camera! I'm coouler than u!1!' is stupid. Next.
Windows Vista? Worthless upgrade. No more said.

Nevertheless, I don't think the article was a we're right, you're wrong article. It was suggesting what to stay away from if you don't want to be pinched, and pinched hardly.

Saying HD DVD has lost the format war is a bit biased to me, blue ray is over-rated

Welcome to the Unique Forums. I was just making a point. Buy anything in any format only to find that the other format won?

Years later and I am still annoyed about Windows Vista. It's a memory and ressource hog are terrible. While 128 MB RAM were the minimum to work with Windows 2000 and 256 MB RAM with Windows XP, you should better have at least 512 MB RAM to work with Windows Vista and a decent CPU, too. It is just overall rubbish and i was quick to get shot as soon as Windows 7 came out.
Anybody have any NHL tips. Pass them this way. Sshhhhhh !!!!
